Headaches

I have a massive headache right now...i really don't know why. It's been a good day otherwise, got a bunch of stuff done that needed to get done. One of those successful days i suppose. People are always telling me to update this thing but for the life of me i can't normally find things good enough to write on here that anyone would really care to read. But here's a little of whats been going on in my head anyway. CHRISTIANS ARGUE & FIGHT OVER THE DUMBEST STUFF!

I've been reading different blogs, watched some different youtube clips from various pastors, theologians, etc. The videos are encouraging, posts, much the same, but once you get down to the discussion part of the forum, you just get slapped in the face. Its not that the idea of discussing these ideas is bad, its probably good, but the lengths to which we go to defend our point or prove this or that is just silly. People end up writing 20 page dissertations on why Marc Driscoll is a heretic or Piper is a prude...its comes from all angles, from all Christians at all times. Its just silly. I can only imagine being a non-believer, hopping on one of these discussions and just breaking down in laughter and applauding such unneccessary hissy-fits. We seem to still wish to think something of ourselves, that our theologies, our doctrinal understandings, or our practical applications in our lives hold us up as something special in the Kingdom of God.

"Blessed are the meek..." - its not a call to be meak rather a description of what the Kingdom of God IS like. Yet i look at our church today and see not the meek, nor the poor, nor the peacemaker, and so on. Our pride and our piety, our viewings of ourselves as gifts to a divine God is tearing our church apart. We want unity but don't know what to be united around. We say Christ, but to be united around Christ, we must be united with him in death & resurrection...we love the resurrection aspect but man does it seem we are afraid to die. Our theologies, our finances, our lives, our (blank) keep us as God's 'holy priesthood' apart because they give us a false hope that we have already resurrected when most of us have yet to even die.
